Answered on camera by Dan Milikow, CEO of iShoot.direct · 1:07 · transcript and sources below
Filming AEO videos takes an adviser about 90 minutes for five questions: a 30-minute preproduction session to talk through the answers, then under an hour on camera at their own desk reading compliance-locked scripts — no travel, no crew, nothing that costs a client meeting. It does have to be the adviser on camera; stand-ins and AI avatars destroy the trust the video exists to build.
Your advisers shouldn't have to give up more than 90 minutes to answer five questions. It breaks into two pieces: a 30-minute preproduction session where you talk through the answers. Record it, and use whatever AI you like to help you turn the recording into a script. Then you send the script off to the chief compliance officer, lock it down, so that the adviser can sit at their own desk for less than an hour and read them on camera. Each script is about a minute or two long — like this video. It's normal to need 2 or 3 practice runs per script before you nail it. But there's no travel, no crew, no real disruption — nothing that costs you a client meeting.
Before you ask — yes, it has to be the adviser on camera. Some guy you hire on Fiverr, or an AI avatar, or a celebrity spokesman isn't going to cut it. They're not going to build trust. They're going to destroy trust. And you'd be missing out on the most valuable part. There is real research, most notably in medicine[1] and psychology[2], that when people meet an expert they're considering in a video before they actually connect, the first contact is warmer and the relationships are more likely to last. Imagine what it would do for your bottom line if your intro calls were 20% more productive.
